I'm bringing Jimmy here as CRAU from Synodiporia, and he's Canon comp right up to the end of Star Trek: Beyond!

Jim's Earth AU is a Quiet, if not very enthusiastic, Professor of Astrophysics that's just had his first memory event and is confused, but also about to go full on Pepe Silvia about how he can use these memories to try and further his field of study!

I'm sure they absolutely shouldn't become friends, because if Jim knows that he's friends with someone who likes to make explosions, and he likes to theorise about rocket engines, that would mean they'd be making explosions together, and I can't think of a better worse basis of a friendship than that...

And bless Bail! Jim might be able to help, because as soon as his faculty is up and running again after his event blackout,he's going to have so many papers to mark. You ccan't gget mmore mundane than that!

Anakin actually works on experimental engines/rockets. But he can't say any specific cuz it's gov't work.

But they can totally meet at one of the Support Group meetings, Anakin is always trolling those meetings for people skeptical of the Bureau.
