May Meta Plot Part 2 – A Message
Today, May 18, 2020, Monday morning, every character will receive a courier posted envelope addressed to them. How did the courier find your character? It’s a ~mystery~. (You’re probably tired of ~mysteries~ by now, but alas). It’s a thin, standard 12.5 in. x 9.5 in. orange envelope. It doesn’t feel like much is inside.
When your character opens it, they will find an 8.5 in. x 11 in. photocopied Deed of Trust. The photograph is of good quality. Your character can tell the deed is old. But in legible handwriting a few things stand out:
- The deed is for the property at the same address listed on the back of the business card Mr. Martin gave your character when they had their first memory event. This deed is for the Bureau’s building.
- The deed is made out to the “Manhattan Engineer’s District” and is signed by a “Leslie R. Groves”
- The date listed on the deed is “1942”
When your character flips over the photograph, they will find the following handwritten message:
Other notable information:
- If your character tries to find a copy of the deed at the county clerks' offices or in the New York City Register's Office, they will learn the deed is not recorded in either office.
- If your character asks around, they will learn no NPC Different received the photograph/message.
- If your character compares photos, they will find them to all be the exact same. And the handwriting on the back will clearly seem to come from one person.
Happy playing everyone!
