✦ Mod Annoucements ✦
... And when my good dream came to an end, I woke up more than ready to bend ... Full Game Navigation
Hello Wonderful Players!

We have a few annoucements for you and our game today:

Annoucement One: AC for Novemeber and Decemeber

This year, our gift to everyone is that the AC for the months of November and December will be a Roll Call. Normally this time of the year is very busy with Western holidays, end of school terms, and dealing with work schedules around all that. For those reasons alone, we think everyone deserves a break with AC. Though we all know this year is particularly distressing with ~generally gestures at all of 2020~.

SO - there you have it, the minimum you'll have to do for activity for the months of November and Decemeber is say you want to stay in the game come AC time. You will all still get to submit for points with your additional activity and bonus points, but we are adding no additional stress this time of the year.

There will still be the normal Acitivty Check for the month of October.

Annoucement Two: October Activity Check

We said sometime at the beginning of the month that we'd be making changes to the Activity Check and Point System... however, due to mod illness, while we did work out the new system, we never had the mental wherewithall to make a post about it until now.

So, for that reason, October's Activity Check and Point System is still the same as before for this AC cycle. But starting in November, we will use a new Point System and the AC will look different, see below.

Annoucement Three: New Point System
Starting with the November Activity Check, this will be the new point system:

Basic Activity - 4 pts
Players must submit one of the following for Basic AC: one (1) Network/Comm subthread, OR one (1) Log subthread.

Doing basic AC will automatically earn a character 4 pts. Links for Basic AC will need to be from the Activity Check Month and all minimum required comments must also be from the Activity Check Month. Links must also meet the following criteria:

Network/Comm Sub-thread
  • These can be a sub-thread on your character’s own network/comm posts or a tag-in to another character’s network/comm post
  • The subthread must have five (5) comments minimum from your character. If the link is to your character’s own post, the post start will count as the first comment
Log Sub-thread
  • These can be a sub-thread on your character’s own log posts or a tag-in to another character’s log post
  • The subthread must have five (5) comments minimum from your character. If the link is to your character’s own post, the post start will count as the first comment
  • A log composed in gdocs and then posted to a game community will count under this option – either completed, or, if incomplete, it shows meaningful engagement from your character. They must be posted to a game community to count.
  • A subthread under your character's top-levels on an Event/Massive Group Catch-All Logs can count for this option.
~*~
Your Character’s Whole Post (Network/Comm/Log)
  • Players can use this option if they have no singular sub-thread on a post for their character with a minimum of five (5) comments
  • At a minimum, your character must address/engage every top-level comment in some way.
  • A character's whole top-level on an Event/Massive Group Catch-All Logs can count for this option.

Additional Activity - Points Variable
Players can submitted their other instances of activity for additional points.

Links for Additional Activity will need to be from the Activity Check Month and all minimum required comments must also be from the Activity Check Month. Links must also meet the following criteria:

Tag-ins to Other Character’s Posts (Network/Comm/Log) – 4 pts for each submitted link
  • These subthreads must have five (5) comments minimum from your character
  • These subthreads can be from any community in the game
  • Players can submit up to five (5) links total for this option
Your Character’s Whole Post (Network/Comm/Log) – 2 pts for each subtmitted link
  • At a minimum, your character must address/engage every top-level comment in some way.
  • You're character's top-levels on Event/Large Group threads will count under this option.
  • A log composed in gdocs will count under this option – either completed, or, if incomplete, it shows meaningful engagement from your character. They must be posted to a game community to count. (All players involved in this kind of post can claim points under this option.)
  • Players can submit up to three (3) links total for this option

  • Bonus Point Options - Points Variable
Player's can earn additional bonus points on their threads if their threads meet special criteria. Except where explicitly stated otherwise, links for Bonus Point Options must be from the Activity Check Month and all minimum required comments must be from the Activity Check Month. A link can only be used for ONE Bonus Point Option per AC. Each option has their own criteria:

New CR – 4 pts for each submitted link.
    • A link to a subthread wherein your character interacts with another character they have not previously interacted with before.
    • These subthreads must have five (5) comments minimum from your character.
    • These subthreads can be from any community in the game.
    • Players can submit up to two (2) links total for this option.
Mega Sub-thread – 8 pts for the submitted link.
    • A link to a subthread wherein your character has made a minimum of twenty-five (25) comments.
    • These subthreads can be from any community in the game.
    • Players can submit one (1) link total for this option.
    • The sub-thread used in this option cannot appear in the link used in the Mega Post Bonus Option.
Mega Post – 20 pts for the submitted link.
    • A link to a post made by your character wherein every subthread has a minimum of five (5) comments from your character.
    • The post must have a minimum of five (5) subthreads, each by a different character.
    • These subthreads can be from any community in the game.
    • Only the character's singular Top-Level on Event/Large Group threads will count for this option.
    • Players can submit one (1) link total for this option.
    • The post used in this option cannot contain the sub-thread link used in the Mega Sub-thread option.
Continuing/Finishing Old Threads – 6 pts for each submitted link.
    • A link to a subthread that was started in a previous month but continued into the AC_MONTH.
    • These subthreads must either have been finished in the AC_MONTH or have five (5) comments minimum from your character in the AC_MONTH.
    • These subthreads can be from any community in the game.
    • Players can submit up to three (3) links total for this option.

In summary, the big things we've changed are: (1) the points that Basic AC earns, (2) we've made two categories for Additional Activity, (3) added the "Mega Post" Bonus Point Option, (4) made "Continued/Finished Old Threads" a Bonus Point Option, and (5) changed the points earned through the Bonus Points Options.

The exemptions to AC will remain the same as they've always been.

This system is a bit bigger than what we have now, but don't panic! We will still include on the actual Activity Check a simple AC form that only contains the Basic AC code and leaves off the extra stuff. There will also be various versions of the form that includes the extra stuff if players want to submit for more points. But we'll make it easy for players to engage in the point system at the level they are comfortable with.

You are all awesome, so stay awesome and excellent to each other!

... What dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause ...
